Windmills at Kinderdijk

Located in the province of South Holland, Netherlands, the famous windmills of Kinderdijk were constructed back in 1740. They are a large-scale network of 19 windmills made to prevent floods and keep lowlands dry by pumping water into a reservoir. Throughout the years, the Windmills at Kinderdijk became a national monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of the Dutch water management mastery.
