Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, is home to the former Buddhist temple Wat Phnom. According to the legend, a rich widow named Daun Penh discovered four statues of Buddha in the trunk of a tree in 1373. Recovering her discoveries, she decided to build a pagoda next to her house to shelter the statues, the Wat Phnom.
