The Wat Arun Buddhist temple, named after the Indian god Aruna (God of Dawn), is by far one of the most beautiful, prestigious and famous temple in Bangkok. It was renovated and renamed Wat Arun Rajwararam during the reign of King Rama II in 1792. The restoration was completed after his death and the name was changed once more to Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan.
