The Uspenski Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox church that was designed by Aleksey Gornostayev and completed in 1868. The cathedral is located on the Katajanokka peninsula in the center of Helsinki and is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The cathedral was the second permanent Orthodox church built in Helsinki and is the largest in Western Europe.
