Somapura Mahavihara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was once one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in Asia. Some sources mention that its construction took place between 781 and 821 AD and was ordered by King Dharmapala. Today, the area contains interesting remains, including sculptures, old pieces, and various elements that take us back to its era.
