With an area of 176,500 km2, the Simpson desert is the fourth largest in Australia. Known for its red sand, the desert is home to the longest parallel sand dunes in the world measuring up to 160 km and reaching up to 37 meters high. It is also known as the Holy Grail of off-road driving.
