The medieval "Ponte Vecchio", or Old Bridge, is the oldest and most important bridge in the historic center of Florence, Italy. It stands between the ancient Piazza Della Repubblica and its modern counterpart, St. Peter's Basilica. It was destroyed during the great flood in 1966 then rebuilt, and it still stands and looks today exactly like it did in its younger years.
