With an elevation of 100m (328 feet), Phou Si is a sacred hill located in the city of Luang Prabang in Laos, near the Mekong River and the Nam Khan River. Wat Tham Phou Si, a Buddhist temple, is accessible halfway up the mountain while another temple, Wat Chom Si, sits at the top. Considered a high place of Buddhism, the legends speak of the hill as a protective and benevolent source.
