Originally known as Agios Georgios, it was renamed Navagio Beach, translating to “Shipwreck Beach” in 1980, after a ship ran aground and the crew abandoned it there. Navagio Beach is a mesmerizing cove beach located on Zakynthos coast, in the Ionian Islands of Greece. After a survey carried out amongst travel professionals in 2018, Navagio was named “the world’s best beach”.
