Monasterio del Escorial

Located in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the Monasterio del Escorial was built by King Philip II and completed in 1584. This symbol of the Spanish Golden Age is a royal palace and monastery considered the largest Renaissance building in the world. El Escorial Monastery is registered as a World Heritage Monument by UNESCO, and it represents a unique cultural asset in Spain.
