Situated on Maputo Bay on the coast of Mozambique, the Maputo Special Reserve is a member of the Lubombo Transfrontier Conservation and Resource Area and links local marine, coastal and inland ecosystems. Mainly known for protecting elephants amongst various other species, it offers a combi-nation of landscapes encompassing lakes, wetlands, swamp forests, grasslands and mangroves.
