Golestan Palace

In the central part of the city, near the Tehran Bazaar’s labyrinth, stands the Golestan Palace (Kāx-e Golestān). Originally built in the 16th century, it became the last stronghold of the Persian Qajar dynasty, whose rulers moved the Persian capital from Isfahan to Tehran at the end of the 18th century. The Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a shining example of beautiful arts and architecture combined.
