The Dome of the Rock is a famous mosque and Islamic shrine carrying the piety and prosperity of Muslims. Located in the Old City of Jerusalem, it was built under the Umayyad Caliph Abdal-Malik in the late 7th century CE. However, it was last rebuilt between 1022 and 1023 after its dome collapsed a few years earlier.
