Central Park, America's most famous public park, is New York's backyard and one of the city's most prominent attractions. It officially opened to visitors in 1876. While it looks effortlessly beautiful nowadays with its Strawberry Fields, playgrounds and grass squares, one should keep in mind that it once was only swamps of mud. Hence it is now considered a masterpiece of gardening and landscaping. Besides its dozens of gardens, fields and walks, the park is also a site of many attractions including the Belvedere Castle, The Central Park Zoo, The Loeb Boathouse and its famous Carousel.
