BANZAI PIPELINE

Located in Hawaii, Banzai Pipeline is a big wave surfing spot named after the beach in front and the reef break lying under the ocean. Its nickname "pipeline" comes from the enormous waves bursting in the shallow water above the steep sponge reef and forming giant, hollow, thick curly water pipes through which surfers can ride. Though the spot offers fairly consistent waves, the best season advised is, like most pacific ocean surfing spots, winter.
