Arenal Volcano

The Arenal Volcano is a stratovolcano in Costa Rica. It is located on the border between the provinces of Alajuela and Guanacaste, close to the city of La Fortuna. The volcano has been under eruption from 1968 to 2010, causing significant damages to the area, destroying villages such as the small town of Tabacon. Its summit is at an elevation of about 1,670 meters.
