Designed by architect Pierre Cuypers, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is one of the best-known national museums in the Netherlands. Opened in 1885, the collection presented in the museum contains an overview of Dutch art and history, including works by renowned Dutch artists such as Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Hals.
