The saddest amusement park in the world is located in Pripyat, Ukraine. Its opening was scheduled for May 1, 1986. But everything turned out differently: On April 26, a nuclear reactor exploded in Chernobyl, just a few kilometers away. A rumor has it that the district government decided to open the theme park to distract people one day after the disaster occurred. A few hours after bumper cars and Ferris wheels were supposedly in operation for the first time, the evacuation order came, and the park was definitively closed.
