Created in 1954, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park keeps track of the atomic bomb dropped on August 6, 1945 by the United States at the end of the Second World War. Composed of several historical monuments, including the A-Bomb Dome, the building closest to the hypocenter of the attack, the area nowadays aims to preserve the memories of the dead and represent peace throughout the world. Each year, a ceremony is held within the park in tribute to the victims.
