Built in the 1st century between 40 and 50 AD, The Pont Du Gard is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman bridges in the world. Standing at almost 50 meters high and 275 meters long, it is the highest amongst other Roman aqueduct bridges. The historical bridge stretches a few hundred meters over the Gardon River and is situated near the town of Vers-Pont-du-Gard. In 1985, the Pont Du Gard bridge made its way to the UNESCO‘s World Heritage List thanks to its incredible historical value.
