Mount Bromo is a 2,329 meters-high, active somma volcano located about 45 km from Malang city in East Java, Indonesia. A complex volcanic process that started over 800,000 years ago then formed the volcano, which remains one of the most active volcanoes today. Being part of the Tengger massif, Mount Bromo is surrounded by many other peaks, such as Batok to the northand Semeru to the south.
